The Care Effect

Logo Care Effect - Wednesday Night Ministry

"The Care Effect" is our ministry emphasis each Wednesday at 5 pm. It is a three-pronged effort to enhance our ministry to those we know and to the city we love.

City Care

City Care is an opportunity to bless the hungry and care for the children of our city. One team will carry hot meals to Central City where we are seeking to start a church through the work of Rev. Ed Scott. Another team will take food to the homeless at The Wall—the end of Elysian Fields near the river. A third team will go help feed the homeless at the New Orleans Mission. Those who are willing to make a weekly commitment can go to the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center and tutoring sites in Hollygrove or the Upper Ninth Ward (these two ministries require ongoing commitments).

Community Care

Community Care will feature taking hot meals cooked in our kitchen to homebound persons within and outside of our church fellowship. We are inviting guests and members to supply names of others who might be blessed by a nutritious meal each Wednesday. The meals will be ready at 4:45 pm and may be delivered any time before 8 pm. Appointments will be made for the home visits. Community Care includes visiting our friends in hospitals and nursing homes. Names and addresses will be provided. This ministry supplements the Loving Touch ministry that is ongoing.

Connecting Care

Connecting Care is an effort to facilitate Bible study groups in reaching out to their members and guests. All necessary information and supplies will be available in Conference Room 103 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Any Bible study member or leader can access the information any Wednesday. Bible Study Ministry (BSM) groups will be in a six-week rotation to help with contacting guests. BSM groups can update their communication lists, write cards to their members, and discover the status of those who have been absent.
