Fellowship Hall Expansion

The Fellowship Hall expansion project is underway with a completion date set for October of 2008. This expansion will provide a catering kitchen with the capability of cooking for 250 and serving over 400 at a time. It will have a walk-in fridge and freezer that is going to enhance the ministry capabilities of our church.

Food is a vital part of New Orleans culture and it is part of our heritage to fellowship around the table. We already have a annual crawfish boil that sees upward of 600 people enjoying food and fellowship with a distinct South Louisiana flavor. We already enjoy church wide fellowship meals a number of times a year along with all of our special events that somehow always have food and an abundance of it. The long and short of it is we like to eat and fellowship together as a church, and it is around the table that we are able to share the love of Christ with those we know and with those we have just met.

This expansion will enhance what we already do and will enable us to tackle new ministry opportunities such as a businessmen’s luncheon and preparing food for off site ministries. The expansion is going to provide rest rooms for the West end of the facility and provide us with over 1500 square feet of storage space. When we built this facility in 2004 we did not have funds to complete this side of the campus. This project provides a completed symmetry to the building that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
